Here is a neat little story from an on-line forum I recieved through an email. Click here: http://back40forums.com/index.php?topic=198.0 It is a humorous look at farm life with fresh eggs and big, black snakes.

We had a similar story last year. I went into the coop to gather eggs and found a huge Blue Racer with an egg in the belly. I killed this one and held it up, it was nearly as long as I am tall. I stand 5'10". (My wife said we measured it at 5'6".)

I can't post long tonight, it sounds like we might get a thunderstorm and I will have to shut the computer down. Bring it on, we need the rain!

The pastures have slowed way down on growth and I have been supplementing a little with hay. It is OK to do that, you know. My theory is that if you have give a little hay in order to spare some green grass, or to stretch it out, go for it.

Click the link above and enjoy. Take a look at the rest of the site as well by clicking www.back40books.com See you next time and here's hoping for rain!
