Rain, Rain, Rain

It is raining. That is not a bad thing, in fact, it is a type of rain that seems very ratre for around here, slow and steady. I don't know, yet, how much has fallen but it will be a fair amount for sure. It is quite damp out there but that is not the only thing that gets damp. The rain dampens any idea of outside work there might be, outside of the usual homestead chores, that is. Can't cut wood, can't cut the grass. In other words, a good excuse to take a nap and wait for the grass to grow.

The grass is growing slower these days. The shorter, cooler days aren't conducive to growing warm season grasses. I am trying to establish a good cool season grass, but I am having trouble with it. The soil here is too acid, which I am working on and gaining on, slowly but surely. So, let it rain, we need it.
