Somebody's Got My Number!
I don't know about you folks out there in blogville, but I am getting a boat load of spam in the comment section. Of course, I file them in the spam folder, but there is always more the next day. Any tips on how to deal with this?
I was having spam problems about two weeks ago with Anonymous people. I switched something under my blog settings to block Anonymous comments and it worked. For now. BTW, beautiful plate, especially the leaves.
Anonymous or not most of the garbage you are getting probably has links to unrelated websites. They are hoping you run an unmoderated system so that Google has time to crawl the link they posted before you delete it. This improves their clients ranking in Google and they make money. As mentioned not allowing anonymous postings helps but you also have to moderate all posts. Eventually they will go away but they also always come back.

Have you gotten rid of the anonymous option?
I switched it off, I think. We'll see.
