Better Pasture

I am such a blessed man! My lovely wife bought me a book entitled "Quality Pasture" by Alan Nation for Christmas. I am excited to read this book. I can't tell you how I desire to improve our soils here. I have alluded to it in previous posts, our soil is in poor condition. I have wanted to learn as much as I can for some time and I think this book will accelerate my learning.

I have read just the first chapter thus far, but I will give a full report here as soon as I am done. I can tell already that I will have to read slow, in order to ingest all the information contained in it.

For those who may not know, Alan Nation is a grassfarmer from Mississippi and the editor in chief of the "Stockman Grassfarmer" publication. If you don't read the Stockman Grassfarmer, I highly recomend it. It contains a great deal of information about profitable farming. Yes, farmers can still make a profit!

A few quotes from the back cover of "Quality Pasture": "Quality Pasture will walk you through the production model that can help you plug your profit leaks."

"...offers down to earth, low cost tactics to create high energy pasture that will reduce or eliminate expensive inputs..."

Like I said, I can't wait to read this! Look it up, if you're interested, and read it your self. It looks to be chuck full of good info!
