On The Eighth Day Of Christmas...

We find eight maids a-milking. The eight milking maids are a wonderful representation of the eight unique teachings of Jesus that we know as the Beatitudes, found in the book of Matthew.

If you have never read them, please do. They will bless you and offer peace that is unparalleled. The words of Jesus, which He spoke during His sermon on the mount, also offer nurture and strength, much the way a mother's milk does for her child.

To add a little depth to this thought, take a moment to read this verse: 1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

The bible talks about even this concept. Honestly, I haven't found much that the bible doesn't talk about. But do you see the concept? Young believers must seek out the "milk" in order for them to grow. God is so good, He made sure to cover all bases, didn't He?
Mt 5:3 ¶ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Mt 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Mt 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Mt
5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Mt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Mt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mt 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mt 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Mt 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Now, to keep my promise. Homeschoolers and families alike will enjoy making lapbooks. It is a fun way for your kids to learn, with hands on stuff! Parents, you'll be surprised how much you can learn, as well. So, here is the link that will get you going, it is free and fun, so, enjoy some time with your kids.
One more thing, remember that I said that I was leaving out the part of the song that says, my true love gave to me? Well, you'll just have to keep coming back to find out why (cruel, aren't I?). I promise, it is worth the wait. Thanks for stopping by.
