The seventh day of Christmas brings us seven swans a-swimming. In the real twelve days of Christmas, this one is special to me. It invovles the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the work He does.
The seven swans represent the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Just as baby swans grow and change from "ugly ducklings" into beautiful and graceful birds, we as God's children, grow and change through the work of the Holy Spirit. A change that brings us, every day, closer to the image of Christ. What a wonderful transformation, indeed. The various gifts of the Holy Spirit are distributed for the benefit of the entire body (all believers) of Christ.
Ro 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Ro 12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Ro 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
